The sculptures were inspired by the different ways I could utilize and transform simple materials. My intent is to visually communicate repetition, negative space, and focal point. I wanted to focus on using the materials in unique ways and creating visually pleasing forms with these limited materials and colors. I decided to make the three sculptures feel as though they are part of the same series, while making sure they are still very different from one another. The making of this work exposed me to new ways to use materials, such as putting hot glue over forms made with yarn to create a solid piece to work with.
